UK Road Trip: Southwest England

Our road trip around the UK has begun! Us three Americans left France last week and found ourselves sorely outnumbered by Brits. Laura picked us up from the Bristol airport and took us back to her village (Yelverton) for a few nights. We explored her quaint little town and the surrounding villages in southwest England. Our first English delicacy was Cornish Pastys, which are like calzone pockets stuffed with potatoes, meat, onions and cheese, delish! Later that night we enjoyed our second English tradition, fish and chips. After stuffing our faces for the second time that day, we went to bed early to prepare ourselves for the road that was ahead of us. The next day we set out on the road, after some minor setbacks of course...lost luggage (which still has yet to arrive), stuffing the car full of bags and flat tires. On our way out of England, we stopped in Bath for the afternoon (Bath, England, not to be confused with Bath, North Carolina which is NC's oldest town and Blackbeard's stomping grounds). It was a beautiful, sunny day which is a rarity in this country and which made it the perfect day for exploring the town. It was exactly what I imagined an English town to look like and even more! Next stop: IRELAND!

Yay! It's road trip time!
