Croatia

I think the pictures pretty much speak for themselves...

I had never actually considered going to Croatia before this trip, but man, I am so glad that I did. It was beautiful!!! I have never seen a country like it before. The water was so blue and clear and the rocky coastline allows for some awesome viewpoints. We split the week up into three sections hitting up three different cities. Our flight out of Marseille was at 6am, so we had to take the late train the night before and sleep in the airport. We should have checked in at 4am, but since the French like to strike whenever they like, we had to wait longer which only caused more stress for the workers. After our short flight over, we had an eight hour bus ride to our first city. We started in Dubrovnik which is wear neck ties were invented the Game of Thrones is being filmed. Out of the three cities, I was by far my favorite. The first full day there, we walked on top of the city walls and got an amazing view of the city from above. We explored the old town and got ourselves familiar with the city layout. The next day we got up early and walked to the closes beach. Most of the beaches in Croatia are rocky, not small pebbles, but giant stones. After squirming around and rearranging the rocks, we finally got comfortable and laid on the beach for several hours. The next day we headed 5 hours back up the coast to Split. There, we did more exploring and sightseeing. Danny, another assistant friend, met us in our final destination. We walked around the old city the first day and the second day we laid out along the beach and soaked in as much sun as possible. Like all vacations, it went by way too fast but I made sure to enjoy every moment along the way.
