Yesterday we ventured to Saint Remy de Provence, another small town in the south of France. Since I have an affinity for French markets, I researched which day was market day and we took the early bus to give us plenty of time to explore the market. It was one of the best markets that I have been to (other than the market in Aix of course). It was HUGE! slightly overwhelming, but it definitely exceeded my expectations. When it comes to markets, my first tactic is to view all of the products and food that the vendors have to offer and compare prices. Once I have browsed each vendor once (and gotten as many free samples of cheese, tapenade and cookies as I can), I go back a second time to the ones that I want to buy from. As always, I have saved all of my souvenir shopping for my last few weeks in France, terrible decision. I purchased a few souvenirs in Saint Remy which included burlap sacks of herbes de provence as Christmas gifts and a dish towel for myself. After the market closed, we wandered the quaint town for a few more hours then came back to Avignon.
